Sector 22
Design contest held; outcry over alleged rigged vote
26 March 2024 09:04 UTC
The military compound instructed all sectors within it which were created in 2023 to work on artwork designs for the compound. The way this was to work was that the crazy creatures in each sector were collectively required to make a minimum of two artwork designs, with each design being made by a crazy creature interested in making artwork designs. Afterwards, all the crazy creatures in the sector would select which design they thought was their favourite.
The crazy creatures of Sector 22 were briefed about this by two members of their Local Committee, Daniel and Remiger. Voting was to be conducted electronically with a non-secret vote, and creatures could change their votes until voting closed. Six designs were submitted by the crazy creatures of Sector 22, inclusive of two designs which were simply animal drawings and not related to the original intent of the military compound. The compound had intended for these designs to capture elements of the compound's culture, something the two animal drawings failed to do. However, as Ckellomi, who set up the voting system, forgot to exclude the two animal drawings, they were included in the vote.
Initially, design 3, designed by Rayson, the second leader in Sector 22's Local Committee, seemed to be the frontrunner in the vote. However, as Remiger opposed design 3 and did not wish to see it win the vote, she started going around to convince crazy creatures to change their vote, first to change it to any design but design 3, then settling on a preferred candidate (design 5) which she recommended any creature against design 3 to vote for.
Remiger was able to convince Lagasel, who was in agreement with her that design 3 should not win the contest, to change his vote from design 4 to design 5, as despite believing that design 4 was the better of the two, changing his vote was worthwhile to support the larger cause of preventing Rayson's design from winning the vote. Lagasel also suggested that Remiger convince her boyfriend Noles to change his vote, as Noles had set his vote for design 3. Remiger then controversially borrowed Noles's smartphone to change his vote to design 5, and shortly after declared the voting process over with design 5 in the lead.
When Remiger returned Noles back his phone, Noles quickly changed his vote back to design 3, but it was too late as voting had already been declared closed and any changes to the result would not be respected by Remiger. Not long after, design 3 once again became the forerunner. Leattosh decried the vote as a rigged election due to Remiger's move to influence the election result.
